The Marketing Underground was founded on the principle that it takes a marketing type to recruit a marketing type. We are not recruiters that simply claim to be experts in marketing. We don’t think that’s enough. All of our recruiters come from within the marketing industry. At the Marketing Underground we not only want to find the perfect professional fit for our clients, we strive diligently to find the perfect cultural fit.  We’ve been in the candidate’s shoes and it is our belief that achieving a match between the candidate’s profile and the corporate culture is half the battle when making a successful placement.

David Baker

President & Founder

David had a 13 year career in Marketing and Business Development, working on both the corporate and ad agency sides of the business, before he became an executive recruiter.

David has 17+ years experience in the recruitment of top marketing talent across the nation. Marketing, sales, advertising and PR talent is all his company seeks and they do so very well.

David has amassed a wide array of contacts in marketing over the last 30 years. He and his staff all have a marketing background and speak the language of hiring managers and candidates. With his extensive background as both a recruiter and a marketing executive, he brings immediate credibility to the table. David is not just a recruiter pushing resumes, rather he is a marketing consultant and partner.

Linda Trocino

Candidate Analyst

Linda has over 20 years of experience in the recruiting industry, spanning many areas of recruiting from fast-paced, volume recruiting in the temporary industry, to contingency recruiting, to retained executive search. She is passionate about recruiting because she loves the success of placing an individual in their dream job and also playing a role in the success of companies by making a great placement.

After 10+ years of agency recruiting, Linda established her own company offering contract recruiting and research/sourcing services. She has recruited professionals in multiple disciplines including Technology, Finance, Sales, Advertising, Marketing, Human Resources. Linda is a Certified Internet Recruiter and loves the challenge of researching and sourcing candidates.

When not working, Linda loves to cook and experiment with different recipes. She currently lives in Atlanta with her husband, 2 daughters, and her 120-pound golden retriever, Moose.

Lisa Waggoner

Candidate Analyst

Lisa Lyle Waggoner is a senior search consultant and manager with over 20 years of full life-cycle recruiting experience and in that time has been very influential in helping clients attract the best talent to their respective organizations. Lisa is recognized by clients and candidates alike as a search consultant who truly “listens.” She has a broad range of concentrated experience in varying capacities such as Research, Recruiting, Staffing and Management, Project Management, Employee Development, Coaching, Counseling and Negotiation.

Lisa honed her recruiting skills with InterSource Atlanta, a boutique executive search firm specializing in executive search and contract services in a variety of disciplines, including human resource, accounting/finance and technology disciplines. Since that time she has worked with a variety of other industries to include but not limited to property management, professional services, non-profit, advertising, manufacturing, healthcare, telecom and marketing. She has worked with a variety of small to medium sized companies, as well as Fortune 500 clients such as Dell Computer, Georgia Pacific, Andersen Consulting, Pizza Hut, Vanstar, Motorola, Zep Manufacturing, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Safety-Kleen, Cantera Doors, Atlantel, NBCG, Kuusakoski and AFT.
